Cesar Augusto Barreras Ruiz 1946-2024

Cesar Augusto Barreras Ruiz of Brooklyn, NY passed away on Saturday, November 23rd at
Bensonhurst Rehabilitation Center in Brooklyn.
Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Maria Socorro Ruiz Hernandez
and Caseres Barreras Ortiz.
Cesar was the beloved husband of Luz A Lopez and was known for his love of telling jokes
and pulling pranks. He always presented himself as an easy going fellow with a fantastic
sense of humor. In addition, he made an excellent eggplant parmigiano.
Cesar is survived by his daughters, Tamara Miranda, Melba Barreras, life partner of
Abraham Nazario, Liurma Ruiz and Lynethe Cerruto, wife of Joseph Cerruto. He also leaves
behind, his beloved grandchildren: Carlos Rivas, Kaitlyn Rivas, Abraham Nazario, Jaileen
Nazario, Roberto Ramos, Aaron Ramos, Alexandra Peralta, Luis Vila, Emily Vila, Valerie
Cerruto and Alice Cerruto.
Additionally, he is survived by his sibling, Lucinda Barreras Ruiz along with many nieces
and nephews. Cesar was preceded in death by his spouse Luz A Lopez and siblings
Antonio, Luis and Nivia Barreras Ruiz.

A Funeral Service will be held from 12:00pm till 4:00pm, Sunday December 1, 2024, at Lockwood Funeral Home located at:
