CATHERINE SHEARIN

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Catherine Shearin of Brooklyn, NY. Catherine passed away on Friday April 5th, 2024 at the age of 86 years old. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Catherine McGinley; her siblings, Timothy, Charles, John, Edward, Philomena and Winnie; her son-in-law, Charles Clark; and her loving husband, Dennis Shearin. She is survived by her three children, Joseph Shearin, Catherine Clark and Mary Shearin; her granddaughters Carolann Wolfe, Alison Clark Elizabeth Shearin, Madison Clark, McKenzie Clark and Jaylynn King; and her great granddaughters, Catherine and Peyton Wolfe. She is also survived by her brother Anthony McGinley. 

Catherine was a pillar of strength, love and grace in our lives. She directed her life to caring for her family, always placing their needs above her own. She was a beacon of comfort to us all, offering solace in times of hardship and laughter in moments of joy. She was a loving and devoted mother, and the kindest, sweetest and most loving grandmother and great grandmother. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 10th at Lockwood Funeral Home located at 255 21st St., BK, NY 11215, from 4-8 PM.  Mass will be held on Thursday, April 11th at 9:30 AM, directly across the street from the funeral home at St. John's R.C.C.
