I still cannot register that Alex is now in the spiritual realm, and no longer part of our world; only our hearts and minds. I think of him every day, and am so thankful that he was with us for almost twenty-eight years. He touched many lives in a bright and giving way, and will continue to touch our hearts, always. Thanks be to God, and to his parents, for the life of Alexander Harrison Collins.

My sincere condolences to the family. I am truly sorry for your loss. May God comfort the family during this very difficult time. May the many wonderful memories of Alexander give his family and friends lasting comfort. A comforting thought to keep in mind is at Revelation 21:4 "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." The family is in my prayers.

Will and Maria,

So saddened to learn of the loss of Alex, I yet feel blessed for having had a chance to see him fairly recently and find out some of his thoughts and plans, after a long time of following his progress through undergraduate and law school on the West Coast. It was my hope to make a strong case for him to consider working his way right back toward our Carolinas so he could tell us much more about his unique experiences.

He certainly had a sense of adventure ! and I got a kick out of how he found a way to combine obtaining an education in beautiful environs while also enjoying his favorite sport. The thought of Alex surfing with you, Will, on a Spain vacation still makes me smile, and the mention of his name would inevitably bring on even more joyful smiles to his grandfather Bill and aunt Eugenia, just as it once did for his grandmother Gene.

Now in giving rest to his soul, may God keep the caring spirit of Alex close, while also giving you comfort with help of family and your close friends. I so hope to be able to see you very soon, and want you to know you are, and will be, in my ongoing prayers.

John
